Keeping original song demos identifiable
#1
Our family has accumulated several folders of song sketches. The collection includes generated tracks with filenames that reveal very little. I would like the source recording to remain recognizable after the folders are tidied. Any experimental processing would go into a separate folder with a short note. How do you name these copies so that the history stays understandable? I have seen the terminology ai audio artifact removal in this context. That wording seems too broad to use as a guarantee about a particular recording. A description of the affected passage and the chosen settings seems clearer. The archive will include a short explanation of where each demo came from, who supplied it, and whether the copy was exported again or changed after the original file was received. I would appreciate a simple naming convention that someone else could follow years later.
