Defections of PDP Governors to the APC

We note with solemn disapproval the recent defection of several PDP governors to the ruling APC. Such political maneuvering will not deter our cause or affect Mr. Peter Obi’s destined victory in 2027. Even if all the Governors in Nigeria defects to APC, His Excellency Peter Obi will still win the 2027 presidential election. Indeed, Mr. Obi achieved strong results in the 2023 presidential contest even without having governors, senators, Federal Reps, state assembly members, or local government officials; yet we were told that he got 6 million votes even when it was clear that he won the election. The 2023 election was marred by rigging orchestrated by the APC in collusion with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Despite these obstacles, the people’s mandate was clear. We remain confident that, in 2027, Mr. Obi will prevail on the strength of his broad popular support, not on the whims of party defectors.

INEC’s Proposal to Legalize Voting Without PVC in 2027

We the entire members of the NNPO both in Nigeria and Diaspora express deep concern over INEC’s recent proposal to allow voting without Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). This development threatens the integrity of our electoral process and the sanctity of every citizen’s vote. We must view this with vigilance, as it appears designed to pave a one-way ticket to power for President Bola Tinubu, undermining the principle of a free and fair election. We call on all patriotic Nigerians, supporters of the project of New Nigeria, both at home and abroad, to remain watchful and united in protecting our democracy. Rest assured, such maneuvers will not succeed; the Nigerian people will not allow their vote to be compromised, not again.

Peter Obi: A National and Global Asset

We categorically reject the notion that Mr. Peter Obi is an asset exclusive to the Igbo nation. His vision and leadership resonate with all Nigerians, regardless of region or ethnicity. He transcends narrow divisions and symbolizes the unity and progress of our nation. We urge every citizen to recognize the broad, unifying potential Mr. Obi embodies, and to stop confining him to any single region or ethnic identity. The future of Nigeria demands that we rally behind a leader who belongs to us all, for the good of our democracy and national unity.
