One of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s leading presidential aspirants for the 2023 General Election, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi will neither slow down his on-going robust campaign, nor step down for anybody.

This is the view of Nigeria Needs Peter Obi, NNPO Movement, one of the forefront of the numerous support groups championing the cause for the presidency of the former governor of Anambra State. Speaking through the National Coordinator Worldwide of the very well-spread group, Ambassador Adeyinka Adetokunbo Azubuike, the group lamented that mischief makers are peddling unfounded rumours just to slow down the energetic aspirant.

“Have you seen anywhere where somebody leading a race suddenly drops the baton without reaching the exchange line?” Amb. Adeyinka queried newshounds that sought the view of his very dedicated group.

“As much as we know, His Excellency is dishing out palatable issue-based campaign, diligently outlaying the prognosis of Nigeria’s problems as well as proffering practical and workable solutions.

“It has been Peter Obi in the lips of Nigerians both home and in diaspora. How come such a robust aspirant with commanding lead in all credible polls is suddenly being touted to be considering stepping down?

“It’s just detractors who are likely not far from the camps of his co-aspirants from same party, just to slow down the former governor of Anambra State. As his very strong supporters, the NNPO is not aware of such unnecessary consideration. And I must add that we’re in a position to know.

“Our strategy is in place and we’re firmly focused. It’s not just the NNPO, other support groups of Peter Obi are also all prepared to increase the tempo of Obi’s very amazing campaign until he clinches his party ticket on May 29.

“Nigeria don’t have a better chance than this very moment to act in unison to rescue this country from her present doldrums. Obi has proved he has all the answers. He doesn’t look like a man that will disappoint the wishes of Nigerians he loves so much by suddenly stepping down. Let me ask you – stepping down for who?” the Jos-based human rights defender quipped to the teeming journalists who sought her view via online interview.

It’s very clear, from the NNPO National Coordinator’s firm response that stepping down is not in the resume of that man most times referred to as Okwute ndi Igbo.
