June 12 – A Celebration of Nigeria’s Democratic Journey
Today, as we mark June 12 – Nigeria’s Democracy Day, we remember the courageous steps taken by patriots past and present to reclaim the destiny of our nation through peaceful resistance and collective will.
This day stands as a powerful reminder that true leadership flows from the consent of the governed, and that democracy, while not perfect, remains our most powerful tool for equity, progress, and national renewal.
As a passionate advocate for a New Nigeria, I, Hon. Justin Kingland, join millions of fellow citizens in celebrating our journey from the shadows of military rule into the promise of civil governance and citizen participation.
The path may be tough, and the system far from ideal, but we are a resilient people. Democracy thrives when the people stay informed, engaged, and unafraid to demand better.
