From the Office of the Directorate of Mobilization/ Obidient Movement
Abuja: Nigeria
Following instructions from Dr. Tanko Yunusa, the National Coordinator for the Global Obidient Movement, Hon. Amb. Justin Kingland, the PRO and Spokesman for the Directorate of Mobilization, organized a meeting between the Obidient Movement leadership and all Inclusive Group.
The meeting was scheduled and held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 7:30 PM.
Background
The Inclusive platform, previously under the leaders like Nmaa, JoePaul, had been facing tensions. It was discovered that instead of working on resolving grievances within the existing structure as directed by Dr Tanko, Nmaa and some others had created a parallel Obidient group without the knowledge or authorization of the national leadership. They even went as far as appointing state, local government, and ward coordinators, actions seen as undermining the official national structure.
Upon receiving reports of these developments, the national leadership of the Obidient Movement deemed it necessary to convene the inclusive meeting to address the growing confusion.
Meeting Proceedings
Dr. Tanko Yunusa, a respected personality, an activist and politician, chaired the meeting and addressed the concerns directly:
He commended Nmaa for her efforts but firmly pointed out that setting up what was perceived as parallel structure was unacceptable.
He stressed that two captains cannot steer the same ship, emphasizing the need for unity under a single recognized leadership.
Dr. Tanko instructed all Inclusive platforms to dismantle any unauthorized structures and fully align under the officially recognized Obidient Movement led by himself.
He clarified that the Obidient Movement is a single, unified national structure recognized by His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi.
Platforms can exist, but they must not run parallel national structures. If needed, they could form Political Action Committees (PACs) or Social Organizations, and gave reference to COPDEM and other similarities but, not claim to be the Obidient national body.
Conclusion
Dr. Tanko Yunusa reiterated that only one Obidient Movement is nationally recognized, and called on all Inclusive platforms to:
End any parallel operations, Align fully with the official Obidient leadership, and Work collectively for the progress of a New Nigeria.
The meeting was well attended by:
