A cry for help and justice, As Catholic bishop of Onitsha Diocese is Chasing out over 400 people from their homes, reported by the estate chairman.

Owelle estate Anambra state, the families you are seeing here carrying placards crying to the world have been living in this Estate for over 20years without having any issue with the landlord, the Catholic Diocese of Onitsha picked interest over the property as they plan to use it for their Shanahan University hostel where their students will be living.

The Diocese met the landlord and declare their interest, the house rent was 350k per annum, but the churche told the landlord that they are willing to pay 600k per annum as the chairman of the estate said, somtimes last year some group of rev sister came to the Estate moving around the house with some group of people, the tenants thought that the Rev sisters came for prayers, and after some months Bishop himself came to the estate and started moving around the estate.

As Catholic family that the Estate is, they ran to their bishop to greet him and also to receive some religious acclaimed blessings from him but he never give them face, that is when they started suspecting that something is wrong somewhere, after someone months a quit notice of 6 months was giving to them by Bishop of Onitsha Diocese, they ran to the landlord and cried to him and even promise the landlord that they are going to pay the sum of 600k to make sure they retain their homes, but the church letter added another money on it.

Some days ago, the church deployed full Hilux of soldiers, as they came to Mount their sign board, the tenant came out to stop them but the soldiers started beating them and bundle some people away to their barracks after they have layed so many of the tenants inside gutter,

This estate has block rosary center as you can see the children here with their uniform, and the estate almost single handedly built a parish beside them, they families are crying for help as they don’t know where to run to with their children, all the report came from the chairman of the estate.

I Ezeaku Ejiofor is calling the attention of Onitsha arch bishop to look into this matter as the families are catholic members and also human beings , everyone knows that getting a new rent this time around is not easy for so many families today.
