Jakarta: 15 people killed in the KRL accident at East Bekasi Station
The police have released a list of names of the victims killed in the Bekasi KRL accident. The Metro Jaya Police reported that the number of victims who died was 15 people.
“Yes, there were 15 (victims) who died,” said the Head of the Dokkes of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol dr. Martinus Ginting, at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, quoted from Kompas.com.
The victim identification process was carried out by the National Police’s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team using primary data in the form of finished fingerprints and secondary data such as medical signs and victims’ belongings.
“It was identified through primary data, namely fingerprints and secondary data, namely medical signs and property or property or possessions,” said Karodokpol of the National Police Pusdokkes, Brigadier General Nyoman Eddy Purnama Wirawan.
“I was told to go home (by the hospital), but if there was anything, I was told to come here directly,” said Subur.
Subur admitted that initially he heard about a taxi incident that was hit by a KRL from the direction of Cikarang to Jakarta, while he was in the KRL from the direction of Jakarta to Cikarang.
The KRL he was riding was held for about 10 minutes with the door open. Shortly afterwards came the Argo Bromo train which was speeding until it hit the KRL.
Subur and Yunita bounced to the middle of the carriage. Luckily, Subur was still conscious, so he was able to take Yunita out of the carriage.
Subur said that after the Bekasi KRL accident, there was a puff of thick smoke. The situation became even more tense when there were panicked screams from the passengers who were victims.
