NNPO CONDEMNS DEMOLITION OF PETER OBI'S BROTHER'S COMPANY IN LAGOS
The New Nigeria is Possible (NNPO) Movement has expressed strong condemnation of the recent demolition of a property owned by Mr. Peter Obi’s younger brother in Lagos State. The property, reportedly standing for over 15 years, was demolished without any known court order—a move that has triggered national concern and public outrage.
Reacting to the development, Mr. Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate, decried the demolition as “coordinated lawlessness and impunity,” warning that such actions discourage both local and foreign investment in Nigeria.
In a statement issued today, NNPO National Spokesperson, Hon. Justin Kingland, described the act as “intentional, targeted and politically motivated.” He said:
“This is not just about demolition, it is a direct and deliberate attack on Mr. Peter Obi, a man who has remained the voice of the oppressed in Nigeria. This destruction of his brother’s property is politically charged, ill-intentioned, and a clear message of intimidation from the ruling establishment in Lagos State.”
Hon. Kingland further noted that such actions do not reflect the values of justice, fairness, or democracy that the Nigerian people deserve. He emphasized that Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration must provide answers to the Nigerian public, stating:
“In a lawful society, due process is non-negotiable. How can a government demolish a private investment without any court order, or without officially notifying the owners? This level of impunity is unacceptable. It sends the wrong signal, especially at a time when Nigeria is struggling to attract foreign investors.”
The NNPO calls on all democratic institutions, legal bodies, civil society organizations, and concerned Nigerians to speak out against such tyranny. The organization reiterates that New Nigeria is only possible when justice is upheld, property rights are respected, and political opposition is not victimized through state machinery.
As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, NNPO affirms its unwavering support for Mr. Peter Obi and other leaders of integrity who continue to challenge the status quo and advocate for good governance.
