Hon. Amb. Justin Kingland Hosts First Physical Meeting of COPDEM LGA Chairmen in Agulu

A Strategic Step Toward Strengthening Democracy and Grassroots Mobilization*
In another major milestone for the Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), Hon. Amb. Justin Kingland, Head of Grassroots Mobilization for (COPDEM) hosted the first-ever physical meeting of the 21 Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen of COPDEM Anambra State at his residence in Agulu, Anaocha LGA.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Kingland emphasized that this gathering was strategically designed to map out for good governance, grassroots empowerment, and preparation for the upcoming COPDEM inauguration in Nnewi on 10th August 2025.
Hon kingland stated, This physical meeting marks a new phase, “Since 2023, we’ve been meeting virtually, so meeting physically today is a great move and show of dedication. This gathering is a sign of commitment and shared vision. We are here to brainstorm on how to make the inauguration a symbolic and powerful event.”
He further noted that COPDEM has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), adopting the party as a grassroots political platform aligned with democratic values and people-oriented leadership.
The three key agendas of the meeting included:
1. Strategizing for a successful and colorful inauguration.
2. Sustaining unity and the existing structure of COPDEM.
3. Strengthening grassroots mobilization efforts for Apex Leader, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi.
LGA Chairmen at the meeting expressed optimism and enthusiasm. Onitsha South Chairman, Comrade David Chukwudifo noted:
“The essence of COPDEM is to defend democracy and promote good governance in Nigeria and as now, We have no other leader in view except Mr. Peter Obi, who embodies the vision and ideals we stand for.”
Anocha COPDEM Chairman, Comrade Nnoli added:
“COPDEM exists to counter anti-democratic narratives and actions. We must speak truth to power and remind the government of their duty to uphold the will of the people.”
Hon. Kingland, more so, spoke furtherance to the Event: Inauguration of 3480 Anambra COPDEM LGA and Ward Executives in Anambra state & Mass Rally has been confirmed, and the date is slated for Sunday, 10 August, 2025, at ANAEDO HALL NNEWI.
In closing, Hon. Kingland reaffirmed:
“COPDEM stands for truth, justice, and the people. We will always support any candidate who embodies democratic values, and that is why we have chosen to support His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, a man who truly desires to see Nigeria work.”
