A woman, identified as Bilkisu Suleman, aged 28, was apprehended by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives during New Year operations. She is alleged to be involved in supplying ammunition to bandits in Borno state.

The arrest was disclosed by Femi Babafemi, the spokesperson for the anti-narcotics agency, in a statement to journalists. Babafemi revealed that Bilkisu Suleman, along with 12 other suspects, was arrested during the New Year interdiction operations conducted by NDLEA operatives across states like Kaduna, Lagos, Niger, Kogi, Kano, Borno, and Osun.

According to Babafemi, the 28-year-old suspect was apprehended on Wednesday, January 3, along the Zaria-Kano Expressway. She was found in possession of 249 rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition concealed in a black nylon bag inside her lady’s handbag. Bilkisu Suleman was reportedly en route to deliver the ammunition to an identified bandit in Kakumi village, Katsina State, when she was arrested. Subsequently, she was transferred to the Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and prosecution.
