We, the entire members of the New Nigerian Is Possible (NNPO) across the globe, strongly advise His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi not to respond to the recent comments made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Doing so would be highly unnecessary and irrelevant.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s attack on Peter Obi’s remark is a clear desperate attempt to regain favor as a loyal apprentice to his master Tinubu. Since the 2023 presidential election, where Peter Obi convincingly won in Lagos State , a supposed stronghold of Tinubu, Tinubu and his circle, including his apprentice Governor Sanwo olu are still in shock and still couldn’t believe it (that is democracy and people’s choice) and left Tinubu with no option than to bribe and take advantage of the hungry, pathetic INEC and the confused JUDICIARY. Sanwo Olu could not even secured Tinubu’s Street for his paymaster, Peter Obi won Lagos including Tinubu’s Street. Since then Tinubu has not been pleased with his apprentice Sanwo olu, he’s tackling Peter Obi to show Tinubu that he is working against Peter Obi. If there’s any word more than disparaging and unpatriotic then that’s should be used
Rather than addressing the undeniable economic crisis and hardship facing Nigerians, you chose to launch a baseless attack on Peter Obi’s factual and courageous remarks delivered at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. Of course you won’t say the truth because you are under apprenticeship and corrupt umbrella. Mr. Obi’s statement did not malign Nigeria; instead, it presented an honest reflection of a country in distress- economically, socially, and institutionally.
The Tinubu administration has become a source of national embarrassment. Under his leadership, Nigeria’s currency has collapsed, food prices have soared, fuel is now unaffordable, and insecurity continues to worsen. It is now shameful to proudly identify as a Nigerian abroad, given how our global image has deteriorated.
Rather than respond to noise, we remind the public of just a clue and some of Mr. Obi’s notable achievements as governor of Anambra State:
Education Reform: Under his leadership, Anambra moved from 24th to 1st position in WAEC performance nationally.
Infrastructure Development: He rebuilt over 800 kilometers of roads and improved school and hospital infrastructure. Anambra State, under His Excellency Peter Obi, recorded the best road network in Nigeria.
Debt-Free Governance: He governed Anambra state for 8 years without borrowing a dime and left over ₦75 billion in the state’s account upon leaving office.
Health: Partnered with world health organizations to improve maternal and child healthcare.
Security and Rule of Law:Significantly reduced crime and respected judicial independence.
We call on patriotic Nigerians to focus on the real issues confronting our nation, not political distractions. History will remember those who spoke truth in the face of failure—and silence will never help a nation in crisis.
